Quality, Fully Independent Games Media.

Double Black Ltd is a UK-based online media company dedicated to operating websites in the video gaming space. What began as a nineties and noughties teenage passion for building fan sites about our favourite games has over two decades evolved into an online media business with an international audience of millions of readers and followers.

Proud of its roots, Double Black is built to continue to channel the same passionate attitude and upstart energy that powered fan-made destinations on the early web - but with a professional and modern edge, optimized for quality in content, user experience, and turnover. All running on our in-house, 100% custom back-end Content Management System ‘Mist Engine’ - optimized and designed with games media in mind. With lean teams focused on modestly-sized web brands in high-engagement niches, we want to be as passionate as our audience is.

Double Black is led by decades-long games media veteran Alex Donaldson and his long-time business partner and whizz-bang coder Mike Chittenden. They’re joined by a range of experienced voices in games coverage across the UK, USA, and beyond.

The #1 destination for role-playing video game fans.

RPG Site is the largest website dedicated solely to the sprawling role-playing game genre. Founded in 2006, it has been operating as a games media business for most of its existence - but in that time, it hasn’t forgotten its roots as the passion-driven spin-off of eagerly-constructed fan sites.

Fiercely independent and believing firmly in content and tone traditions of the ‘old internet’, its content is written by and for the most dedicated of genre fans. Over its two decades in operation, it has earned a reputation as a reliable and trusted source for millions of role-playing video game fans every month.

A no BS website about video games owned & run by industry veterans.

Respec began life with a simple feeling: wouldn’t it be nice to be outside the corporate grind and get truly in touch with the joy of writing about video games again? The result is this: a plain and simple gaming site created and run by media veterans who spent decades running mega brands for some of the industry’s biggest media conglomerates, now taking their fates into their own hands. The same expertise, experience, and intense passion for the industry, but without the filter of corporate ownership between them and the reader.

Just recently founded in 2026, Respec wants to foster a club-like feel and serve a dedicated audience earnestly - in turn avoiding the SEO rat race that has damaged to many brands.
